Enarotali, THETPN-PBNEWS.COM – The Supreme Commander of the OPM TPNPB, Damianus Magai Yogi, emphasized that Indonesia and Papua are equal in the Melanesian Spearhead Group – MSG.
Therefore, when Indonesia wants to talk about the fate of Papua, he hopes that they can sit together at the MSG table.

This was said by Damianus Magai Yogi during a closed meeting with the Head of the Papuan Human Rights Commission, Frits Ramandey in Paniai, Wednesday (24/8/2022) yesterday.

“We (Indonesia and Papua) are equal in MSG. Therefore we expect us to sit together at the MSG table. Let the MSG finish it,” said Yogi, Friday (26/8/2022).

Yogi said that as long as Papua is inside Indonesia, his party will not be safe. The proof is that if his family wants to shop at the market or want to seek treatment in the city, they are threatened and even shot dead.

“Well, that means that we in Papua have no peace. Indonesia still feels that we are the enemy so we spend our whole lives in the forest. How about we agree to sit down and talk for peace and we live in each other’s country,” he said.

Frits Ramandey’s arrival also conveyed his party’s desire to resolve a number of complex human rights violations in Papua.

“I express my gratitude to Damianus Magay Yogi as the Supreme Commander of the TPN-PB OPM who has received me well in Enarotali,” said Ramandey.

As the Monitoring and Negotiation Team for a number of humanitarian events in Papua, Ramandey has also conveyed his mission to Michelle Bachelet as the High Commission of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva recently.

“As Komnas HAM and also as a monitoring and negotiation team that we are initiating humanitarian dialogue efforts. Komnas HAM has met with the High Commission of the UN Human Rights Council Missel Beslei in Geneva. We have conveyed this and received a response that this effort is to resolve a number of human rights violations that have occurred in Papua,” he said.
